Academy Award winning actor Al Pacino will replace actor and former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in the leading role at the Cayman Alternative Investment Summit next month.
Summit representatives say Mr. Schwarzenegger, widely known for his role as the Terminator and as two-term governor of California, as well as a businessman and former bodybuilder, had to cancel due to a scheduling conflict.
A press release from the summit organizers states that Mr. Pacino, who is well-known for his roles in the “Godfather” series of movies but won his only Oscar for Best Actor for his leading part in “Scent of a Woman,” will talk to the 500 alternative investment executives about his career and his approach to acting.
The summit on Feb. 12 and 13 at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, sponsored by Dart and KPMG, provides an opportunity for hedge fund leaders to discuss the future of the industry. Its summit’s title this year is “A New Vision for a New Age.”
“The main thrust of the event will be to help the alternatives industry anchor itself in a fast-changing investment landscape so as to deliver extraordinary value and benefit for investors and their managers alike,” said KPMG’s Anthony Cowell. Other notable guests expected to attend include Virgin Group founder Sir Richard Branson, financial and economics expert and author John Mauldin and numerous CEOs and company presidents.
The summit has drawn some high-profile speakers over the years, including former U.S. President George W. Bush.
