Cayman Islands Tourism Is Surging

The Cayman Islands is seeing a significant increase in air arrivals, according to the latest data from the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism.

Air arrivals into the Cayman Islands surpassed all previously recorded statistics last month, the sixth consecutive record-breaking month for the destination.

A total of 34,999 visitors arrived in November, a jump of 19.66 percent over November 2016.

For the year to date, 302,634 stayover visitors have come to the Cayman Islands, an increase of 11.88 percent, one of the highest growth rates in the Caribbean.

That was buoyed by a strong increase from the northeastern United States, which showed a 34 percent increase.

The Latin American source market is also showing growth, with a 16.77 percent increase in visitors from South America year over year.

“The ongoing efforts within the Ministry and Department of Tourism to deliver increased visitation and raise brand awareness have been demonstrably successful. I am profoundly proud of the performance of our tourism sector in 2017, whether it be new marketing strategies, renovations, human capital development or something entirely different, the stakeholders in tourism have been steadfast in progressing the successes of tourism industry,” said Cayman Islands Deputy Premier and Minister of Tourism, Moses Kirkconnell.
